Suspension kit for Toyota LJ70/73 ROUND HEADLIGHT, with high travel designed and built in Italy, the sophisticated components make this trim a high-end product capable of making the vehicle very stable and controlled, great for amateur or competitive off-road.

The Toyota LJ70/73 lift kit consists of:

  • COMPETITION60 shock absorber kit;
  • +6 cm variable pitch progressive springs kit.

From the menu at the top right specify if the off-roader is already equipped with a winch. This will affect the calibration of the setup.

Even when you have not installed one, but plan to fit one later, we recommend choosing "with winch."

TOYOTA OFF-ROAD SHOCKS

The Toyota off-road shock absorbers provided in the kit, 100% Made in Italy, are constructed of mechanical steel tubing lapped internally and fully galvanized to prevent corrosion.

The bushings are polyurethane, highly resistant to deformation and wear, all components are sintered for maximum control over calibration, and the seals are graphitized Teflon to improve smoothness and quietness.

They are calibrated in compression like the originals to promote comfort, but more braked in rebound to reduce vehicle hopping. This calibration is designed to best suit Italian off-road use and is compatible with any type of setup; however, when ordering, the desired one can be chosen at no extra charge.

The shock absorber can be recalibrated and overhauled in every part, in the first year after purchase the recalibration, is carried out free of charge so as to adapt the shock absorber to the use you make of the vehicle.

Inside the shock absorber there is a first internal limit switch in rebound resistant up to 5000kg and a second polyurethane limit switch that slows the last 10mm of travel to prevent excessive stress six supports to the chassis, are usable as a limit of travel for the bridge.

ROTHEN oil with a high viscosity index is used, which ensures that the calibration is maintained up to 200°C, so these shock absorbers are also suitable for heavy-duty use and desert raids.

Each Competition60 shock absorber has the following features:

  • T.I.G. welds for maximum strength and refined aesthetics;
  • double mechanical steel tube lapped internally, fully galvanized with electrolytic galvanizing with Iridescent White finish and subsequent trivalent chrome passivation with surface hardness 80 HV, the outer tube has a diameter of 60mm and a thickness of 2.5mm to withstand shocks, in case the body gets dented the shock absorber will continue to function normally;
  • steel rod diam.20mm coated with CrVI free hard chrome with tolerance according to EN ISO 286-2
  • polyurethane bushings very resistant to deformation and wear, they are molded with 80 shore thermoplastic polyurethane specifically for automotive use inacceptable to grease, oil and fuel;
  • sintered internal components for maximum control over wear-free calibration;
  • graphitized Teflon sealing band to improve the smoothness of the suspension; compared with cast iron bands, they are much quieter.
  • dual polyurethane and steel limit switches to stop rebound travel in a controlled manner and not burden frame and bridge attachments;
  • ROTHEN shock absorber oil specially designed for off-road use with high viscosity index that ensures smooth calibration up to 200°C essential for heavy use such as races or desert raids;
  • double adjustment of rebound and compression calibrations at both high and low speeds with translation reed valves preloaded with star springs in compression and coil springs in rebound;
  • double seal with o-ring and oil seal with metal base, the high quality of the seal makes it possible not to use stem seals which in the long run create dirt accumulation and damage the shock absorber, any debris that settles on the stem is cleaned by the double lip of the metal oil seal;
  • calibration on a 10-speed test bench, from 5 to 500 m/s to have the perfect calibration under all conditions.

HM4X4 shock absorber overhaul is guaranteed at a cost of 40.00 euro each.

AIR DRYED pressurization is an innovative two-stage pressurization technique that allows pressurization with inert gas after creating a high vacuum, completely extracting air and moisture inside the shock absorber so as to minimize the phenomena of oil emulsion and rust creation that moisture inside a non-pressurized shock absorber inevitably creates.

In addition to making the shock absorber perform better, Air Dryed pressurization greatly extends the life of the shock absorber and ensures consistency of calibration even after years of use.

TOYOTA VARIABLE PITCH SPRINGS

The Toyota variable pitch springs included in the kit, entirely manufactured in Italy by TUV-certified company are of the progressive variable pitch type, a variable pitch spring during compression progressively hardens thus obtaining an extremely soft, comfortable and capable of copying the ground but very stable on the road.

Progressive springs unlike traditional springs have variable pitch, that is, the distance between the coils is not constant, the stiffness of a spring with the same material and wire diameter is given precisely by the number of coils and their pitch.

A progressive spring allows more coils to be used than a traditional spring resulting in a much softer spring, the variable pitch coils during compression progressively harden the spring resulting in an extremely soft, comfortable set-up capable of copying the ground but very stable on the road.

Variable-pitch springs turn out to be longer than a constant-pitch spring with the same amount of rise, so they do not require spring guides since even though they achieve a very high excursion, the spring does not detach from the supports.

The main advantages of a progressive spring off-road:

  • greater ability to copy the land;
  • greater excursion with the same length compared to a traditional spring;
  • very stable in the side passages as it crushes and stiffens;
  • greater absorption of sudden obstacles, as it gradually stiffens to block any obstacle (boulders, roots, etc.) without reaching a buffer.

The main advantages on the road of a progressive spring:

  • very stable on fast stretches;
  • much more comfortable than a traditional spring thanks to the high number of turns;
  • reduces body roll to a minimum as it crushes and stiffens progressively.
