Suzuki Samurai and Sj 410/413 +5" rear shock absorbers

Pair of +5" rear shock absorbers for Suzuki Samurai and SJ 410/413, featuring eye-to-eye mounts and a 2" pressurized twin-tube body design. Fully rebuildable and revalvable to suit specific driving and suspension requirements.

HM4X4 offers a shock absorber entirely designed and manufactured in Italy, built using internally honed mechanical-grade steel tubes with full zinc coating for maximum corrosion protection.

The high-quality polyurethane bushings provide superior resistance to wear and deformation compared to standard rubber bushings.

Sintered internal components ensure extremely precise damping calibration, while graphite PTFE seals improve smooth operation and reduce suspension noise.

Compression damping is calibrated similarly to OEM shocks to maintain ride comfort, while increased rebound damping helps reduce vehicle bouncing. This setup has been specifically developed for Italian off-road conditions and is compatible with any suspension lift configuration. Custom valving can also be requested at no additional cost when ordering.

Each shock absorber is fully rebuildable and revalvable. Additionally, during the first year after purchase, revalving service is provided free of charge according to the customer’s needs.

Inside the shock absorber there is a first internal rebound stop rated up to 11,000 lbs, combined with a second polyurethane bump stop that slows the last 0.4" of travel to reduce stress on chassis mounts. These bump stops can also be used as axle travel limiters.

ROTHEN high-viscosity shock oil ensures consistent damping performance up to 392 °F, making these shock absorbers suitable for heavy-duty off-road use, competitions, and desert raids.

Each Competition50 shock absorber has the following features:

  • T.I.G. for maximum resistance and a refined aesthetic;
  • double tube in mechanical steel lapped internally, entirely galvanized with electrolytic zinc coating with Iridescent White finish and subsequent passivation with trivalent chromium base with surface hardness 80 HV, the external tube has a diameter of 50 mm and a thickness of 2 mm to withstand impacts, should the body be dented, the shock absorber will continue to function normally;
  • steel rod Ø16 mm coated in hard chrome CrVI free with tolerance according to EN ISO 286-2;
  • polyurethane bushings very resistant to deformation and wear, they are molded with 80 shore thermoplastic polyurethane specific for automotive use, resistant to grease, oil and fuel;
  • sintered internal components for maximum wear-free calibration control;
  • graphite teflon sealing band to improve suspension smoothness, compared to cast iron bands they are much quieter;
  • double limit switch in polyurethane and steel to stop the extension stroke in a controlled way and not to burden the attachments to the frame and bridges;
  • ROTHEN shock absorber oil designed specifically for off-road use with a high viscosity index that guarantees regular calibration up to 200 °C, essential for intense use such as races or raids in the desert;
  • double adjustment of rebound and compression settings, both at high and low speeds with preloaded travel reed valves with star springs in compression and helical spring in rebound;
  • double seal with o-ring and oil seal with metal base, the high quality of the closure allows not to use the fork protectors that in the long run create accumulation of dirt and damage the shock absorber, any debris that settles on the stem is cleaned by the double lip of the metal oil seal;
  • calibration on a 10-speed test bench, from 5 to 500 m/s to have perfect calibration in all conditions.

The overhaul of the HM4X4 shock absorber is guaranteed at a cost of 50.00 euros each.

AIR DRYED pressurization is an innovative two-stage pressurization technique. It allows to pressurize the shock absorber with inert gas, after having created a high vacuum, completely extracting air and humidity from its interior. This allows to minimize the phenomena of oil emulsion and the creation of rust that humidity inevitably creates inside a non-pressurized shock absorber.

In addition to making the shock absorber more performing, the Air Dryed pressurization considerably extends the duration of the shock absorber over time and guarantees constant calibration even after years of use.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

  • fully extended length: 22.4"
  • stroke: 7.9"
  • direct bolt-on installation using the factory mounting points, with no modifications required.
